Admit it. You’ve Done Your Kids’ Homework For Them [poll]

I realize it's still summer but we got to talking about school on the show today.  I know I'm looking forward to getting back into the school routine but there's one thing that I hate about school:  The homework!  I thought I left it behind when I graduated but when you have kids, you get to relive it all over again.  Yippee.

While I'm happy to help my kids with their work,  as much as I can (Who can remember all that math, anyhow?) I sometimes find myself doing the assignment for them.

How in the Heck to You Grill a Well Done Steak That’s Not Dry?

I love to grill.  My problem is, I'm not very good at it.  At least one part of it.

I do a pretty good job choosing meat and picking seasoning and marinades.   I can grill up what I think is a pretty killer medium to medium well steak but when it comes to a well done steak, I'm completely missing the mark.

Twin Falls Reacts to the Colorado Tragedy and Gun Control [audio]

Over the weekend, I heard several conversations about the shooting in Colorado.  One topic that's being discussed at length is that of gun control.

Someone in the discussion mentioned that since the shooter obtained the weapons legally, perhaps we should revamp regulations we have for the purchase of firearms.

I believe that the more we regulate, the more we make it difficult for sane, law abiding citizens to protect themselves and others.  I wonder if lives could be saved if there were more good people carrying weapons.

The Best Way To Infalte a Pool

Most days I feel like a moron but yesterday I felt like the biggest moron EVER. It has been very hot outside lately so I bought my kids a small inflatable pool. This is nothing new, I seem to buy them a new pool ever year but my husband is usually home to blow up the pool. He wasn't home yesterday so I was in charge of setting up the pool for my kids. I thought this would be an easy task. It wasn't!

Idaho Band Opening for Montgomery Gentry Concert, This Saturday

I first saw The Jason Lugo Band open for Suzy Bogguss, last year in Gooding.  They put on a stellar show.  Killer vocals, some of the best written original material around and harmony that rivals any "big name" act you can name.

Should Twin Falls Have Year-Round School? [poll]

We're barely four weeks into summer vacation and I hear it already.  "I'm bored."  I wonder if you shudder just as much as I do when you hear your kids complain that there's nothing to do.  Now... Before you get all "get off your lazy rear and get a summer job" on me, let's stop and really think about this for a minute.  Are summer jobs the answer or do we need to consider a year-round school system?
