June 6, 2012 Today's Google Doodle honors Richard Hollingshead Jr. who opened the first drive-in movie theater on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey on June 6, 1933. The animated film attached to the doodle shows Drive-Ins at their peak in the 1950's and is pretty fantastic.
Many communities have lost their drive-in theaters, but Twin Falls is lucky enough to have two.
E3--the electronics expo--is getting underway, and in attempt to get the jump on Microsoft and Sony press events, Nintendo has revealed their newly redesigned Wii U controller. Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata showed off the goods on their new HD system in a half-hour long video.
The box office can be a funny thing. Last weekend, ‘Men in Black 3‘ made $55 million and was considered a disappointment. This weekend, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman‘ pulled in $56 million and it’s considered a roaring success. As bizarre as that sounds, it all makes sense when you look at the details.
It took four weeks for another film to dethrone ‘The Avengers‘ from the top of the box office, but that dethroning occurred with a whimper, not a battle cry. ‘Men in Black 3‘ arrived on the scene and proved that advance hype and high tracking are abstract concepts that don’t always reflect reality. $55 million isn’t an opening that’ll have executives committing seppuku, but for a film that was expected to open to north of $80 million, it’s a definitely a solid kick in the groin (metaphorically speaking, of course).
‘Iron Man 3‘ began filming this month yet we’re still finding out about more actors who are appearing on set. Yesterday Jon Favreau revealed that he’ll be reprising his role as Happy Hogan in the sequel. Today? Some information that just might be a bit cooler.

Somewhat sad news, folks. While much of last week was spent on an upswing watching show after show get officially picked up and renewed, it seems two of TV’s underrepresented mainstays are about to go gentle into that goodnight. On the upside, at least one of the cancelled series won’t mean an end to work!

According to yahoo.com Taylor Swift has taught a generation of kids to appreciate country music over the last five years. Now, she's donating $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to make sure that education continues. I am thinking she might be doing this because it has always been a dream of hers.
May 17, 2012 According to a press release from KXTF, Twin Falls' Fox affiliate, they will no longer carry Fox programming beginning July 1,2012.

May 7, 2012 The numbers are in and Marvel Comics has a huge hit on their hands. With all the grace and subtlety of the Hulk smashing Loki's army, 'The Avengers' has broken box office records by taking in an incredible $200.8 million.
