It is Christmas card season. I love getting Christmas cards from friends and family. A lot of people send Christmas letters with their cards to let you know what they have been up to in the past year. With Facebook it makes you wonder if Christmas letters are really necessary anymore.
One of the best parts about the holiday season is when Santa comes to town for a visit. Every single year, he makes his rounds to American shopping malls so little kids (and adults-- we’re guilty) can have an up-close-and-personal gift-begging session with the guy. The whole thing is pretty impressive if you think abo
Scotty McCreery helped bring some country music flair to the 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' NBC special on Wednesday evening (Nov. 29). Using his signature baritone voice, the young star sang out a snazzy version of 'Holly Jolly Christmas' for the crowd both in New York City and watching around the country.
With Christmas only a few short weeks away, our holiday excitement seems to build every single day. Honestly, how can you not be totally stoked over the idea of presents and Santa and tons of hot chocolate with marshmallows? It's impossible. That's why we love to express this crazy anticipation in our favorite way-- through festive clothing. We're huge fans of giving our cat's reindeer antlers and making our pups wear Santa hats, but what does that mean for us?
'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' was the third, and considered by many to be the best, installment in the 'Vacation' franchise.
Like its predecessors, it was written by John Hughes and starred Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. Unlike the other movies in the series, the "vacation" took place at the Griswold's home during the holiday season.
The classic Christmas song goes:
You better watch out,
You better not cry,
You better not pout,
I'm telling you why:
Santa Claus is coming to town.
That jolly old elf Santa Claus and his helpers are making their way through the Magic valley. Find out where Santa will be with our handy holiday Magic Valley Santa Tracker.
There are some truly amazing Christmas lights in the Magic Valley. The video above (graciously provided by Amber Vance) shows a house at 489 Polk Street, just off Filer Street, who's lights are perfectly choreographed to Christmas music that's broadcast on their own radio frequency. Just pull up, turn your headlights off, tune to 94.1 and watch the show. It really is remarkable.
The Magic Valley is full of spectacular Christmas Lights! Here's a few that you have to see.
Santa Claus rules. Unless his beard gets stuck mid-mall stunt, then his cool status gets a little iffy. But otherwise, good ol' St. Nick is really awesome. Why? For starters, he has reindeer as pets, gives out presents for a living and gets thousands of free homemade cookies on Christmas Eve. Basically, the guy's livin' the life. It's no wonder he's survived to be like, hundreds of years old!
Not that we're counting or anything, but Christmas is only 27 days and a few hours away, which means it's time to get into the spirit ASAP. Now, this doesn't mean going 'Gangnam Style' crazy with house lights. You also don't have to go buying the 12 days of Christmas to prep for the holidays either, although that would be super awesome. It can require very little to no effort to feel all tingly with Christmas excitement, like making obnoxiously long gift lists or dressing up our cats like reindeer. Come on, you know we can't get through the holidays without embarrassing our pets.
