The After School App is an app aimed at kids and teens that bills itself as an "Anonymous and private message board for your school."  The general selling point is that the app gives teens a safe way to communicate with other classmates without parents looming over their shoulder. At least that's the basic pitch.

After it hit the App store in 2014, it fell under heavy criticism after teens were reported to be using the app to bully, among other things.

Following a revision, the App relaunched in April of 2015, with the claims of added safety features, including a human layer of safety.  Every post on the network is claimed to be reviewed by an After School staff member prior to publication. The app also lets parents set passwords and restrict content.

According to posts by the Cassia County Facebook page, those fail-safes might not be as effective as advertised and is asking parents to talk about the app with their kids and urges them to remove it altogether.

What do you think? Should children and teens be given a forum to post anonymously or do you think they'll figure out a way to do it whether we condone it or not?
