Cassia County Investigates Shooting

Malta, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - One person is dead and another shot in the back following a shooting near Malta in Cassia County. Deputy George Warrell said they responded to a shots fired call at 2265 East Yale Road at 8:29 P.M. Sunday. When they arrived they found two victims in two separate homes.

Levi Bodily, 24 had suffered a gunshot to the back. He was taken by a private vehicle to the hospital in Burley for treatment.

The second victim in another home was identified as Whitney Murphy 26. She was found dead with a gun shot wound. At this time authorities are not able to release any further information surrounding her death as the investigation continues. Warrell said that no arrests have been made at this time. Investigators have been on the scene since they were called out Sunday night.
