When the massive Captain America: Civil War cast list was released there was one big, green name missing: Hulk. While Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, War Machine, Vision, Ant-Man, Black Panther and even Spider-Man are joining Captain America for his next film, Bruce Banner was apparently looking to sit this film out. Or, is he? A new report suggests that Mark Ruffalo was spotted on set in Berlin shooting new scenes for the movie with Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Daniel Brühl.

The news comes from German newspaper Bild, which reported the following yesterday (translation provided by Google):

Since this week the US superstars Chris Evans (34), Mark Ruffalo (47) and Anthony Mackie (36) together with Spectacle Star turn Daniel Brühl (37) the third part of "Captain America" in Berlin. It could cost to the superhero but a big bang once in Berlin's nightlife.

The article tends to focus more on the Civil War cast going out and partying after filming (the article’s headline: “Daniel Brühl, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo | Berlin Party Nights Are Long”) than specific details on filming, so we don’t yet know what scenes were actually taking place. And, absent any photographic evidence, we’re also lacking 100% confirmation that Ruffalo was actually participating in the filming that was happening. Maybe he just likes flying across the country to party with his Marvel bros?

Though Marvel has been playing coy, Ruffalo said back in June that Robert Downey, Jr. told him Hulk was indeed in Captain America: Civil War:

If Robert Downey, Jr. says I’m in Captain America, I’m in Captain America dammit! And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script. At this point, I’m told that I’m in it by Robert, which I’ll take as biblical, but I just haven’t heard or seen from production yet.

It looks like that call sheet may have finally showed up at Ruffalo HQ.

There have been some very consistent rumors that Hulk would be battling Red Hulk (the returning William Hurt, playing Gen. Ross), but there’s been a lot of flip-flopping as to whether that rumor is actually true. Ruffalo will be at the Toronto International Film Festival next month with his upcoming film Spotlight, so you can expect this question to come up once or a thousand times.

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
