Bad news for fans of Morrigan, Demitri, Bishamon, Anakaris and B.B. Hood as Capcom revealed that it won't be making a new Darkstalkers game for a long time.

In an interview with Famitsu, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono mentioned that a new Darkstalkers game most likely won't be happening, EventHub reports. This is due to the lackluster sales numbers of Darkstalkers Resurrection (a compilation of Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3), on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Ono indicates that low sales numbers, and not breaking a certain quota is a telltale sign that Capcom isn't going to try to reboot an old series or make another sequel for it.

Ono, a longtime producer for many of Capcom's biggest titles, gave us an interesting look as to how Capcom decides whether or not to continue a series:

At the end of the day, there are just some brick walls that a salaryman can never overcome *laughs*. For instance, if a game doesn't sell over 2 million copies, then we'd have to put the brakes on any plans for a sequel. All that means is that we weren't capable enough. And all we can do after that is to reflect on the experience, take what we can learn from it, and try to apply those lessons on some other title.

Is there anyone out there willing to buy 2 million copies of the last Mega Man Legends and Onimusha titles?
