The team known for bringing Black Ops 1-2, World at War and zombie mode to Call of Duty is working on its next entry of the series, and it's due out this fall.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed that Treyarch is developing Call of Duty's 2015 entry, Polygon reports. Call of Duty fans should recognize Treyarch for being the geniuses that introduced zombie mode to the series and for developing its Black Ops and World at War titles. According to Hirshberg, Black Ops 1-2 remain the two biggest-selling titles in Call of Duty history.

"This fall's game will be Treyarch's first on the three-year development cycle," Hirshberg said. "It will be loaded with innovation, and we're excited to share more details with our community soon."

Nearly one year ago, we reported that Hirshberg announced Call of Duty was changing over to a three year development cycle among three different studios. This would have Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch each spending three years on a different game before moving on to their next one, with Activision alternating between studio releases each year. With Infinity Ward's last game being 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts and seeing Sledgehammer's Advanced Warfare in 2014, we can't wait to see what Treyarch is developing. Will we see Black Ops 3 in 2015? Is Infinity Ward gearing up Modern Warfare 4 (or Ghosts 2) for a 2016 release? Only time will tell.

It's Treyarch -- you know they've got their sound effects down.
