REXBURG, Idaho (AP) — A Brigham Young University-Idaho student police say made a post on a social networking site about plans to "shoot up BYU-I" has been cited for misdemeanor disturbing the peace. The Post Register reports that Rexburg police on Monday cited 19-year-old Joshua David a day after the post that lit up social networking sites. Police say that David made the post at about noon Sunday on a site called Yik Yak and expected software to prevent it from posting, but it went through.

The post was then reposted by someone else as a screenshot on Twitter, and quickly spread. Police say David contacted police when he realized things had spun out of control. He was questioned and then released. David is scheduled to be arraigned November 4th.
