BUHL, Idaho (KLIX)- A 17-year-old girl died Monday after a horse riding accident just outside of Buhl on Sunday. According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Harley McDaniel, 17, was seriously injured while riding a race horse on Sunday evening. Rescue crews responded just after 4 p.m. to 19741 Highway 30.

McDaniel was flown by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus in Boise where she later died from her injures on Monday.

The teen’s mother, Mary Taylor, told authorities that McDaniel recently became an organ donor and that her wishes were being carried out.

Taylor wished to express her sincere gratitude for the support and outreach by so many people.  She also wanted to remind everyone to “love and hug your kids every chance you can.”
