BOISE (KTVB) -- The Boise State football team will play a home-and-home series with Oregon State, Director of Athletics Mark Coyle announced Thursday.

The Broncos and Beavers will meet in Corvallis, Ore., Sept. 3, 2022, and at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Sept. 2, 2023.

The two teams are also scheduled to play at Oregon State in 2016.

"Strength of schedule is obviously something that is extremely important under the new postseason structure of college football," Coyle said. "Boise State has always made an attempt to schedule high-quality non-conference opponents, and we will continue that trend going forward.

"It is also our goal to schedule home-and-home series so that Bronco Nation gets the opportunity to see these types of games at Albertsons Stadium."

In upcoming seasons Boise State has home-and-home series scheduled with BYU, Florida State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Virginia and Washington State.

The Broncos and Beavers have previously met eight times, with Oregon State holding a 5-3 advantage. Boise State has not lost to the Beavers at home in the last three games played in Boise, and had won three of the previous four games played between the schools before falling in the 2013 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl (38-23).
