TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) A southern Idaho desert overlook will become more accessible to the public after a facelift.  The Bureau of Lands Management announced work will start on the Bruneau Canyon Overlook to create an American with Disabilities Act accessible pathway. It will also make the safety railing along the canyon rim better overlooking the Bruneau River. Work on the overlook, located in Owyhee County just south of Bruneau, is the first phase of construction that will last til November.

People will be able to access the site during the work. The overlook will feature interpretation panels, restroom facilities, paved pathways and better safety, once the work is complete. According to BLM the overlook is the only easily accessible spot to view the canyon. At that point the canyon is 1,300 feet away from the other side and about 800 feet above the river.
