Bras Across the Canyon sponsored by Kiwi Loco

pink ribbon

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, when health care experts, cancer survivors and research supporters pull out all the stops to make everyone aware of the need for proper breast cancer screenings, better detection tools and more research aimed at finding a cure.

Breast cancer is the second-most common cancer in American women (behind skin cancer). There are more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S., and about one out of every eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the second-leading cause of cancer death in women after lung cancer. In 2012, the American Cancer Society predicts that 226,870 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in women and about 39,510 women will die from the disease.

Bras Across the Canyon sponsored by Kiwi Loco

The good news is, you can help (even if you don’t look great in pink). If you want to step up and support the cause right now, Join us for Bras Across The Canyon on Saturday, October 20th from Noon till 2PM at the Perrine Bridge!

Admission to the event, which features vendor booths in the park, is just one bra and one dollar in support of Breast Cancer awareness, prevention and research. 100% of your dollars will be donated to The Mustard Tree Wellness Clinic in the Magic Valley. Your money is raised locally, and stays local.

Then at 1:30pm, raise that bra high as we walk the span of the Perrine Bridge showing our support for Breast Cancer Awareness. It will be an awesome sight!

Saturday, October 20th, noon till 2pm meet at the Visitor Center Park under the Perrine Bridge (West side). Enjoy the booths which include:

  • Kiwi-Loco… first two hundred get free frozen yogurt
  • Bellapierre Idaho… see their fabulous line of mineral cosmetics
  • Saba Products… get free samples of their new weight loss system
  • Our radio station vehicle and crew

At 1:30pm, everyone will form a line, holding their donated bras high as we walk across the west side foot path across the Perrine Bridge, turn around and come back! Everyone is encouraged to bring a buck for the charity and a bra for the fun spectacle! 100% of the money raised will be donated to The Mustard Tree Wellness Clinic to provide mammograms for women in our area who have no insurance.
