Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A friendly outing to Dierkes Lake turned into a rescue mission Saturday evening. Dispatchers received a call that a pair of 12–year old boys was stranded on a rock with ice melting around them.

Meanwhile, a third boy was flagging down emergency crews for help, according to Twin Falls County Spokeswoman, Lori Stewart. Twin Falls County Sheriff's deputies and Search and Rescue responded to the scene.

Crews thought about rappelling down to the boys, but went with a canoe as it turned out to be the easier method. All boys were brought to safety, according to Stewart.
