MCCALL, Idaho (KTVB) -- According to Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary in McCall, "Boo Boo the bear" has successfully been released into the central Idaho forest after spending nine months healing at their facility.

Boo Boo was 4-months-old when he was rescued last summer. A fisherman along the Salmon River found the bear, and after seeing burns on his paws caused by Idaho's 312-square-mile Mustang wildfire, the U.S. Forest Service and Idaho Fish and Game came to the rescue.

Boo Boo the bear spent a few weeks at the Idaho Humane Society before rehabilitating at the Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary near McCall.
