BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise School District leaders are criticizing an ad campaign that challenges how prepared Idaho students are for life after high school.

The Idaho Statesman reports the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation's "Don't Fail Idaho" campaign includes a TV ad showing children getting off a bus in a remote area and being left alone. The campaign says one in five students aren't prepared after high school. The Boise School Board said in a Statesman op-ed article that the campaign is inaccurate.

Superintendent Don Coberly also criticized the foundation's use of college entrance exams to determine a student's success in a memo sent to district employees Monday. Coberly claims the foundation wants to help charter school enrollment by "undermining public education." A spokesman for the foundation said it had no comment.
