BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise woman was arrested and charged with two counts of felony injury to a child after police said they found a 5-year-old outside after midnight, wearing only pajamas and shivering in the winter cold. Thirty-two-year-old Amanda Lynn Thomas was arrested early Sunday morning. She's scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 27.

Prosecutors say police were responding to a report of a child outside in 27-degree weather when they found the 5-year-old crying in front of the home. The police officers say the front door was unlocked, and they entered after knocking.

Prosecutors say police found another small child inside and Thomas passed out in a bedroom. The officers said she was intoxicated. The two children were placed in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
