HANSEN, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in south-central Idaho say a body spotted Thursday morning in the Snake River Canyon is the fisherman swept away in the current late last month.

Jerome County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Capt. Jack Johnson tells The Times-News that crews recovered the body that's on some rocks about a mile downstream from Hansen Bridge.

Forty-six-year-old Clarence Troy Baynes was last seen by a fishing partner near the bridge on June 29. Authorities say the two hiked into the canyon and decided to cross the river but Baynes was swept away.
