HAILEY, Idaho (KLIX)- The Blaine County School District announced the resignation of one of its board members due to health issues.

In a statement released Thursday morning the district says Carole Freund handed in her resignation to Board of Trustees Chairman Shawn Bennion. This now leaves the zone 3 vacant until the appointment of a new trustee.

In the resignation Freund stated “It is with deep regret that I announce my resignation from the Blaine County School District Board of Trustees.  The health issues I am currently experiencing make it impossible for me to continue.”  Freund went on to state, “I am honored to have served with you and my fellow board members.  Thank you for all for your work alongside me during my trusteeship.”

Board Chairman Shawn Bennion said, “I am grateful to Trustee Freund for her service on the Board.  She considered all sides of the issues before the Board and kept the focus on the children of Blaine County School District.”
