JEROME, Idaho (KLIX) – Bureau of Land Management fire engine operators from across Idaho will conduct training exercises this week in the Magic Valley.

The week-long training event will include, among other things, an event in which students attending various stations will demonstrate their knowledge in engine protection, progressive hose lay, tire maintenance, foam ruse, off-road driving, mobile attack and drafting.

Training on Thursday, which includes the field day with local media, will be held at the Devil’s Corral north of the Perrine Bridge in Jerome.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land across the U.S., the most of any federal agency. In Fiscal Year 2015, the BLM generated $4.1 billion in receipts from activities occurring on public lands.
