I have no doubt that you have seen the picture that everyone was sharing on Facebook over the past few days of the bison calf in Yellowstone that was picked up by tourists because they thought it was cold. Now, the word is that the calf had to be euthanized after the herd rejected it due to the human contact.

KRTV from Great Falls broke the news.

In this case, park rangers tried repeatedly to reunite the newborn bison calf with the herd. These efforts failed, and the bison calf was later euthanized because it was abandoned and causing a dangerous situation by continually approaching people and cars along the roadway.

Yellowstone National Park is a national treasure for many reasons. The incredible varieties of wildlife there are a big part of it. In case you have been living under a rock and don't know this, it's illegal to touch the wild animals in Yellowstone. Plus, it's just a really awful thing to do to the animals. If you have anything you don't understand about what you can and cannot do in Yellowstone, please refer to their official guidelines.
