It’s the Hilex Poly Invitational weekend for the Golden Eagle Men this Friday and Saturday. The men plan Impact Academy at 7:30 Friday evening. Impact Academy is a Basketball training center in Hayward, California where athletes get to train with professional players either for long-term or basketball camp settings On Saturday at 7:30, the men play Monroe College from New York.

This is the CSI Harvest Time Festival weekend. CSI Deca students have lined up 190 vendors for this 34th annual holiday arts and crafts show at the Expo Center. 65% of the merchandise is handmade. CSI Hosteurs will be selling baked potatoes, chili, Navajo tacos, scones, and more. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2 per person. Door prizes every hour.
The Herrett Center will hold its November star party this Saturday night. Chances for a clear sky aren’t looking very good, but if it is the free telescope viewing will go from 6:15 to midnight in the Centennial Observatory.

The next Arts on Tour presentation is the classic Steinbeck play “Of Mice and Men” produced by the New York touring theater group called The Acting Company. 7:30 next Wednesday evening in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $32 and available at the Fine Arts box office or online at csi.edu/artsontour
Next Wednesday’s Herrett Forum is with Chris Anderson from the Herrett Center. His topic is “Why The World Won’t End on December 21, 2012.” Chris will explain what the Mayan calendar really means and why you should still buy Christmas presents for your loved ones this year.  7:30 Wednesday, Nov. 14 – admission is free of charge – it’s at the Herrett Center’s Rick Allen Room.
