Easter is fast approaching, and it is time to start searching for eggs soon. The best part about Easter egg hunts is once your children or you find them, there is typically delicious candy inside. It is always a mystery as to what will be in the eggs, and sometimes a groan may follow, depending on which type of candy is in the egg. While Easter has some fantastic candy to enjoy and choose from, some don't live up to the hype. If you are looking at buying Easter candy this holiday, make sure to avoid buying these ten, because they are the worst candies in California.

Candystore.com released a list of the worst Easter candy for 2024, and coming in as the tenth worst is generic Jelly Beans. There are a variety of options these days, and many have transitioned away from the classics, and more towards specifics like Starburst, Skittles, or Sweet Tarts.

9) Oreo Cream Eggs

These aren't a common Easter candy, but many have expressed not enjoying them. It is a little surprising since Oreos are typically enjoyed, but eggs and Oreos, do not mix apparently. Oreo Crème Eggs sound good in theory but have not been met with excitement.

8) Sour Patch White Chocolate Rabbit

Another candy that isn't as common as others on this list, but makes sense why it isn't a hit. Sour Patch Kids are a great fruity and sour candy, and white chocolate is great on its own. Sour and sweet chocolate does not seem like a great mix and that is why this candy gets voted the eighth worst this year.

7) Bubble Gum Eggs

Bubble Gum Eggs are a classic Easter candy, but are they truly candy? One of the problems with them is that kids are taught not to swallow gum, and these are tasty enough, that it is hard to resist. There are plenty of them, and that might be too much gum for some.

6) Chocolate Crosses

The Chocolate Crosses come in on the list as the sixth worth Easter candy. Big solid chocolates are not the easiest to eat, especially in one sitting. Most like something small they can enjoy a handful of or finish simply, whereas the cross takes multiple attempts to finish.

5) Solid Chocolate Bunnies

Similar to the cross, solid bunnies take multiple attempts to finish. They are filling, big, and too sweet for some to handle. Typically the solid chocolate bunny is the last candy left because, at some point, it is too much chocolate.

Many people like chocolate and many people like marshmallows, but combined with Easter, they come in as the fourth worst candy. The stickiness and texture aren't everybody's preference, which makes them unlikable to many. Avoid putting these in people's baskets this year.

3) Peeps

You knew it was going to be on the list, but where would it fall? Peeps comes in as the third worst candy for Easter, and many may argue that the ranking is too low. They are too sweet, and while they may be tempting at times, it only takes one bite to remind you why they are one of the worst.

2) Easter Candy Corn

Candy Corn is one of the worst candies invented ever, so the fact there is an Easter version is surprising. They taste like wax, are too sweet, and cause stomach aches for hours. Unless you enjoy torturing children, don't put these in eggs or give them to anyone.

1) Cadbury Crème Eggs

They are an Easter staple, but does anyone truly enjoy them? The cream is too sweet and wrong and doesn't mix well with the chocolate. Cadbury Crème Eggs took home the award last year for worst Easter candy as well, making it still the king of Easter candy to avoid.

Make sure to avoid the candies above this holiday weekend, and don't force your children to eat them, unless you want them to be punished. Not all candy is created equal, and the list above proves that. Have a great Easter and enjoy the good candies instead of these.
