BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) -- Police are investigating a reported rape in a Boise State residence hall Sunday morning.

The university sent out an alert stating that the attack happened at Chaffee Hall sometime early Sunday morning. Boise Police investigators say a number of witnesses have been cooperating and the information they have provided has been helpful in the investigation. The victim is now receiving counseling services from the Boise Police Victim-Witness Unit, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Latino man in his 20's and is 5-feet-7-inches tall, 160 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a dark t-shirt and fluorescent green shorts with matching shoelaces. Police say the crime does not appear to be connected to reports of a prowler in neighborhoods near campus earlier this fall. Anyone with information on the suspect or the case is asked to call Campus Security and Police Services at 426-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
