A University of Utah student from Idaho has died in a BASE jumping accident. It happened Tuesday afternoon in Provo, Utah. The Provo Fire Department says 24-year-old Holly Brittsan was attempting to jump from a cliff on the north side of Rock Canyon when she fell.

Northern Idaho’s Kootenai County will join a lawsuit being drafted by Twin Falls County seeking to upend the state’s new redistricting plan. Kootenai County commissioners on Tuesday asked the county prosecutor to intervene.
Emergency Appeal Filed To Stop Rhoades Execution
The attorneys for condemned Idaho inmate Paul Ezra Rhoades have filed an emergency appeal to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court in hopes of staving off the execution set for Friday morning. In a 33-page brief to the court, Oliver Loewy and the other attorneys with the Federal Defenders of Idaho reiterated Rhoades’ contention that Idaho’s new lethal injection protocol is likely to be botched, causing him to suffer excruciating pain in violation of the 8th Amendment.

Twin Falls To Join Boundary Challenge
The Twin Falls City Council voted yesterday to join the challenge against the latest redistricting plan. The vote at yesterday’s meeting was 5 to 0 to join Twin Falls County in the challenge. The latest plan would split Twin Falls County into different districts where the population centers are far removed.
