Remodel Begins At. Former St. Luke’s Building
The Office of Probation and Parole will soon be moving in to the former St. Luke’s hospital on West Addison in Twin Falls. Twin Falls County Commissioners earlier this week approved a bid for construction to begin to remodel part of the facility. Pardons and Parole is expected to move in about mid-July.
Voters To Decide School Supplemental Levies In May
Primary election day is May 15th but voters in the Magic Valley will have more than just political candidates to vote for. Several school districts will be asking voters to approve supplemental levies to help maintain operations in the aftermath of several years of state budget cuts. The Filer School District is asking for a two year, $500,000 annual supplemental levy.

Idaho Legislature Adjournment May Hit Snag
The Idaho Legislature is moving closer to ending the session. However, there is one issue that lawmakers say will keep them there until Friday, and possibly into next week. It’s a disagreement on how surplus money should be spent, and the main point of contention is whether to give taxpayers a break, or to save for a rainy day.
Event Planned For Fallen Jerome Soldier
An event will be held in Jerome later today in memory of U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Brown. Sgt. Brown died in Afghanistan Saturday when an IED exploded. He was 27 years old. Sgt. Brown leaves behind a wife and 3-month old twin daughters. The event will be held in the Jerome City Park at 5:30 this afternoon.
Idaho House Marks Bowe Bergdahl’s Third Year In Captivity
Idaho House lawmakers marked Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s third birthday in captivity of a Taliban-allied group in central Asia. Bergdahl is a U.S. soldier from Hailey, Idaho, taken prisoner in Afghanistan in June 2009 who is now being held by the Haqqani network. The now-26-year-old Bergdahl was born March 28, 1986.
Twin Falls Shooting Victim Identified
Twin Falls Police have identified the man who was shot Saturday at a Twin Falls residence. 27 year old Daniel Kitchin was shot while he, his brother and two other men were looking at a 9mm handgun when it accidentally discharged. Daniel’s brother, 22 year old Christopher, was holding the gun at the time. Police are still trying to piece together the cause for the discharge of the weapon.

Murder Trial On Hold For Rupert Man
A murder trial for a Rupert man accused of killing his brother won’t be happening in the near future. Damon Azure has been held in the Twin Falls County Jail since being arrested for killing his brother, 31 year old Seanachan Azure, near Twin Falls Park on February 12th north of Kimberly.

(AP) Idaho legislators are now expected to adjourn on Friday. Senate Assistant Majority Leader Chuck Winder said Tuesday it will likely take until then for budget writers to complete their work. It appears a compromise over a five-year, $35 million teacher pay bill has been struck, after a new measure was introduced in the House Education Committee on Tuesday.
