A bill that will make texting while driving illegal in Idaho is now awaiting Gov. Butch Otter’s signature. Lawmakers admit that enforcing an anti-texting law will be difficult, but say that enforcement isn’t the main purpose of the legislation. Driver safety is foremost and this will save lives.

(AP) – The Idaho Department of Correction is telling a federal judge that a scathing report about health care at a Boise-area prison isn’t accurate and doesn’t reflect current conditions. Attorneys for the state filed their response to the report late last week, saying a court-appointed health care expert didn’t do a thorough review at the Idaho State Correctional Institution.

Body Of Jerome Soldier To Return Friday
(AP) – Military officials say the body of U.S. Army soldier from Jerome will be turned over to his family at a private honorable transfer ceremony Friday at Magic Valley Regional Airport in Twin Falls. Twenty-seven-year-old Sgt. Daniel J. Brown died March 24 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan after he was injured when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
City Council To Hand Out Grants
There are some services that Twin Falls city could provide but for one reason or another either can’t or doesn’t. That leaves opportunities for other organizations to provide the services. And to help with those opportunities the city hands out grants to help the organizations provide those services. The end result is that the services get provided at sometimes a big cost savings to the city.
Personal Income Rises In Idaho
(AP) – Personal income in Idaho jumped 5.4 percent from 2010. That’s three-tenths of a percentage point higher than nationally and ranks Idaho 11th. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis says significant growth in net earnings drove the increase.
