The big gimmick this Thanksgiving season is retailers beginning their Black Friday sales on Thursday, a day previously reserved for turkey and football with the family. This has understandably annoyed retail employees, who now have to work on what was previously a holiday. It also isn't necessarily winning over consumers.
Big Brother is watching the students of John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas. They have all been given RFID badges so the administration will "always know where they are in the building."
In the tear-jerker animated film 'Up,' a home is lifted into the sky by a cluster of party balloons. While it all looks great in Pixar's beautiful animated style, it doesn't seem like it would be something you could pull off in real life.

You think you know exactly what you are getting when you drink a 5-Hour Energy, because its name is so obvious and descriptive But what its name doesn't tell you is that those five hours of energy might just kill you.(*dramatic trumpet blast*)
First there was soda, carbonated sugar water that was sure to expand your waistline. Then there was "diet" soda, which didn't add any calories to the equation but was sweetened with chemicals that may not be so great for you.
Now, in Japan, there is something called Pepsi Special. This drink is so chock-full of chemicals -- mainly indigestible dextrin -- that there are claims it can actually make you skinnier.
Thanksgiving is not far off, and it's about time to start thinking about the guest list for this year's Turkey dinner. More than any other holiday, Thanksgiving brings together extended families. And with that comes the requisite complaints about crazy uncles and in-laws.
But are those familial ties really that hard to deal with?
