Woman Jailed After Rascal Flatts Concert Claims False Arrest

In August, Taste of Country reported that a New York woman had been arrested after a Darien Lake, N.Y. Rascal Flatts show for striking another person in the face while holding her iPhone, which caused lacerations to the victim’s face. Now, six months later, 33-year-old Carolyn Marie Smith has filed a claim against the Genesee Country Sheriff’s Office stating that she was the victim of a false arrest.

George Strait Surprises Ryman Audience

Yesterday (Feb. 22), George Strait made a guest appearance at the Universal Music Group label luncheon show at Nashville’s Country Radio Seminar, which was held at the Ryman Auditorium. Though King George wasn’t listed as an act for the event, he came out as the first performer and stunned a crowd that quickly cheered, stood and clapped to show their approval. The audience primarily consisted of radio station personnel, all of whom were surprised by Strait’s presence.

The Band Perry Debut New Songs on the Ryman’s New Stage

The Band Perry took a break in the middle of their tour with Brad Paisley to step onto the new stage of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Monday (Feb. 20). The sibling trio was the first group to take the newly-renovated historic stage after the 61-year-old blond oak stage was replaced with one made of Brazilian teak.
