An Arctic Cold Front is headed toward the Magic Valley. When it arrives late Sunday night it will bring colder than average temperatures and the possibility of snow.

From the National Weather Service

Expect mild conditions this holiday weekend to become cold and blustery Monday evening. Breezy conditions and mountain snowfall will develop on Sunday ahead of an arctic front that will arrive over the area on Monday.

Rain, high mountain snow and gusty winds on Sunday and Monday will give way to colder air and lowering snow levels Monday night at all elevations in Southwest Idaho and Southeast Oregon. A strong upper level low pressure system will then channels very cold air in from the northwest. Snowfall will be possible down to the lowest valley elevations by early Tuesday morning with moderate snow accumulations in the mountains Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below normal will persist through mid week.

Those planning travel in the mountains on Sunday should be prepared for breezy and wet conditions becoming cold and snowy. By Monday evening through Tuesday. Winter driving conditions will be widespread.
