My 4-year-old son Jack and I tried to build a snowman last weekend. Our goal was big. Our results were... small. Unfortunately the snow that's been falling isn't good packing snow and our snowman turned out rather "miniature."

Anyone else had any better luck building a snow denizen this winter?

While we've had quite a bit of snow this year, it just isn't good for building things. It took most of the afternoon to figure out a plan to simply make snowballs. It turns out we had to pack some snow together and then take off our gloves and use the heat of our hands to melt the snow into a ball. I'm not going to lie, it was a cold process.

My mini snowman, who I have dubbed "Snowme," took 90 minutes to create because the body segments would break, or Jack would try to eat them.

Don't let the smile fool you. He's lonely. I think Snowme needs a girlfriend.
