Amazon Lists The Last Guardian for PS3

That strange dog/bird hybrid must have poked its head out from its aerial doghouse, because The Last Guardian has just appeared on Amazon.

A recent Amazon listing has just put The Last Guardian back on our radar. For a few years now, we have been waiting to see if this followup to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus would ever see the light of day, especially considering its original 2011 release date and the overall lack of updates from Team Ico throughout the years. Amazon has The Last Guardian's release date set as Dec. 31, 2014, which we doubt a little, but our hopes have definitely been rekindled. Unfortunately, the game's box art looks to simply be a placeholder until its official cover is released.

Amazon's product description reads as follows:

"The Last Guardian is the third game by the acclaimed development staff behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. In the game, a young boy and a bizarre, gigantic creature form a heartfelt bond as they attempt to maneuver their way through an unfriendly world."

This would not be the first time that a surprise Amazon post preceded an official game announcement. Given how close E3 is, it's even more likely that we will be getting a formal statement and update on the Team Ico project soon. We've been teased about this game forever. Hopefully this time Sony and Team Ico have some good news in store.
