Alien: Isolation’s Nostromo Content to be Released Outside of Pre-Orders
Creative Assembly has listened to Xenomorph enthusiasts everywhere by making the Nostromo-based downloadable content of Alien: Isolation available for those who don’t pre-order the game.
Two days ago, we announced that Alien: Isolation was going to be bringing back Ridley Scott’s impeccable cast with its “The Crew Expendable” and “Last Survivor” downloadable content, with the latter going to GameStop pre-orders and the first piece of DLC being a part of the limited Nostromo Edition of Alien: Isolation. On Alien: Isolation’s Facebook page, a public representative for Sega claims that The Crew Expendable and Last Survivor downloadable content will both be made available for all Alien: Isolation players at a later date.
The important aspect of this content is that its a big feature starring the cast of the original film with many of its actors returning to offer their likenesses and voices for the game. More specifically, they’re returning just for DLC. This means that Sigourney Weaver is returning to play Ellen Ripley, but her performance is going to be masked as downloadable content and not a part of the main game.
Furthermore, it is likely that Sega will make us pay for this downloadable content since they were originally intended to be included as GameStop’s pre-order incentive and a part of Sega’s own limited Nostromo Edition of the game, which was also meant to encourage pre-orders. Either way, it’s a shame that such a monumental return of the cast from ‘Alien’ has to be wrapped away in either paid DLC or pre-order bonuses and not included as a part of the main game.
Alien: Isolation hatches on Oct. 7 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
