VALLEY COUNTY, Idaho (KTVB) -- Rescuers are searching for a small aircraft with five people aboard that is believed missing and presumably crashed in the Idaho wilderness near Yellow Pine.

County officials say the pilot of the single-engine Beach Bonanza reported an engine failure near the Johnson Creek Airstrip around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Valley County Sheriff's deputies, EMS, firefighters, search and rescue crews, and members of the Idaho Army National Guard are said to be searching for the aircraft.

The plane was reportedly flying from Baker, Oregon to Butte, Montana when the pilot lost contact with air traffic controllers in Salt Lake City.
