Marvel has plenty on its TV development plate already, between the ongoing 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and the five upcoming 'Defenders' Netflix series, but it seems a potential 'Agent Carter' TV spinoff may yet move forward after all. The studio has all-but-officially hired a pair of writers and executive producers to run the drama, seemingly confirming its development for ABC.

Via Deadline, 'Reaper' creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas have purportedly boarded the potential 'Agent Carter' TV series to act as showrunners, the pair already owning the same title for 'Resurrection' under their overall ABC deal.

UPDATE: During ABC's Television Critics Association panel on Friday, ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee made the network's first address of the 'Agent Carter' series in confirming Butters and Fazekas as showrunners and claiming the series' script to be "good." However, Lee states that the script is written by 'Captain America: The First Avenger' scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely. In addition, he also confirmed Hayley Atwell's involvement with the series, though it remains in development awaiting an official pilot order.

Earlier in the month, a rumor emerged that suggested Hayley Atwell had officially signed on to reprise her role as Cap's best gal, much like the 'Agent Carter' One-Shot that fed reports of a TV adaptation in the first place, though nothing has yet been confirmed. ABC will be answering questions from the Television Critics Association press tour later on in the day, which could provide further info on the development of 'Agent Carter' as a series.

We'd rather see the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' kinks worked out before imagining another Marvel series added to ABC's plate, but what about you? Do the 'Reaper' creators pique your interest in an 'Agent Carter' spinoff?
