Advanced Warfare’s Multiplayer ‘A Big Step Forward’ Says Sledgehammer
Just as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s futuristic setting seeks to move its single-player experience forward, Sledgehammer Games is making sure its online multiplayer does the same.
In an interview with Metro, Sledgehammer Games co-founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield elaborated on both the future of real life combat and the first-person shooter genre. Based on all the futuristic weaponry that we have seen in its E3 2014 trailer, Condrey and Schofield assured us that all of the exoskeleton suits, energy weapons and special grenades will be successfully brought over to Advanced Warfare’s online multiplayer.
In response to Metro’s criticism as to how Black Ops II’s multiplayer didn’t utilize a lot of the interesting gear and guns from its single-player, Schofield said the following:
“We’ll have our own style. The exoskeletons are definitely in there and that’s the core of the game.”
Condrey added in that the multiplayer of Advanced Warfare is going usher in a lot of much-needed changes for competitive, FPS gameplay.
“It’s a big step forward, from three years in development we’ve been able to innovate across the game. Everything you saw today… just imagine what that’s going to mean for multiplayer. You’re going to find that new is what it’s all about.”
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to debut on Nov. 7 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
