MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A man remains in jail under a suicide watch after being accused of shooting four people, killing three, in Moscow, Idaho, over the weekend.

John Lee was in custody on Tuesday after making his first court appearance Monday in Colfax, Washington, and being advised of his rights.

The Lewiston Tribune reported the 29-year-old Lee will appear in court again Friday to enter a plea to a charge of eluding law enforcement officers.

The hearing will also deal with issues regarding his extradition to Idaho.

Authorities say Lee shot and killed three Moscow residents on Saturday, including his adoptive mother, and wounded a man before leading police on the chase that ended in Whitman County, Washington.

No motive has been established.
