UPDATE: 11/21 It appears that Scott record CEO of Omega Point Productions is scheduled to meet with Twin Falls County Commissioners on November 25th to discuss a Public Assembly Permit.

JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)- There could be a separate Snake River Canyon jump near the Hansen Bridge. According to Jerome County Commissioner Cathy Roemer the commissioners listened to Scott Record Tuesday on that possibility. Roemer said the commissioners held a workshop listening session.

This proposed jump would go from North to South just east of the Hansen Bridge that crosses the Snake River Canyon. This would be separate from a jump across the canyon where several intend, including Omega Point Productions headed by CEO Scott Record,  to win rights to jump the canyon where Evel Knievel did in the 1970's. Roemer said Record inquired about what the rules would be in Jerome County to make such a jump. Commissioner Charlie Howell said officials with fire, paramedics, disaster services and police attended Tuesdays session open to the public.

Roemer said Record was just exploring the jump's feasibility. She said after commissioners discussed it in length they agreed in principal to support such a jump, but nothing concrete has been committed to Record other than a letter of support said Howell. Roemer says the ordinance governing such an event needs updating since it was written in 1974. Roemer said she would push for a requirement to hold a public hearing for such an event.
