Remember the last time Idaho towns were ranked according to what they're like to retire in? In that one, Burley was #1. A new list has been released and Burley isn't even in the top 10 now. But, 3 Magic Valley towns are and one of them is now #1. What would be your guess?

Twin Falls also made the list for safety. Whoever made this list hasn't been on Blue Lakes or our bridge lately.

Homesnacks did a brand new breakdown of Idaho retirement towns based on this criteria:

  • Low cost of living
  • Low crime
  • Things to do (As measured by population density)
  • Nice weather
  • Distance to the closest international airport

The results (to me) were shocking. Twin Falls came in at #10. Jerome is at #2. And, the number 1 place to retire in Idaho is (awkward pause)...Rupert.

According to the number crunching, Rupert made the jump to the top based on cost of living and safety.

I would make some wise guy comment about the safety in Jerome, but I'm afraid that someone would hurt me.
